So that we can truly do our part to reduce overpopulation of cats and dogs, we keep our spay and neuter services affordable. We also act as full service veterinary professionals, and our vet team can take care of your dogs and cats health needs throughout their lives.

You might wonder why we take spay and neuter services so seriously here at Edmonton Spay & Neuter/ Animal Hospital. Overpopulation is one part of it - homeless pets are a major problem in Edmonton and beyond. Spay and neuter services also protect your pet's health and longevity by decreasing their likelihood of developing reproductive cancers. By getting your pet spayed or neutered, you will have an easier time training your pet and they will live a longer and healthier life. Fixing your cat or dog can also promote positive behavior changes, such as reducing aggression.

About Our Veterinarian in Edmonton

Our veterinary clinic has two veterinarians, one vet tech, one office manager, and one receptionist. Since we are a small animal hospital, our team knows our entire patient community. We are tight knit.

Our vet in Edmonton, Dr. Mioara Anton, had a lifelong dream of becoming a vet. Dr. Anton grew up in Romania, and moved to Canada in 2006. Prior to joining the team at Edmonton Spay & Neuter/ Animal Hospital, Dr. Anton worked at the Edmonton Humane Society.

Our other veterinarian, Dr. Mary Kooyman, is a native of Alberta. She attended veterinary school in Saskatoon and began practicing as a vet in Edmonton after earning her DVM degree. Dr. Kooyman enjoys emergency medicine and small animal care, as well as preventative care.

Together our two vets have performed thousands of spay and neuter surgeries at the Edmonton Humane Society before turning to private practice in Edmonton.
